I enjoyed this, but I would have enjoyed it much more if the whole series hadn't been a total rip off of Nalini Singh's 'Rock Kiss' series (first book published 2 years before Idol). World famous rock band made up of four guys from school, plus a manager. Similar angst issues, media troubles, band member struggling with suicide/addiction, and the heroes in book 2 even have the same first name for goodness same.

Tempted to give it only 1 star for stealing, but instead knocking 1 point off from 4 stars to 3. It also needs a good proofread - lots of errors.

Please go and read and pay for Nalini Singh's books if you like this - she did it first.

P.S. Nalini Singh's suit-wearing, rugby-playing Kiwi Gabriel is also a lot hotter than this suit-wearing, stiff British Gabriel IMHO :)

So nearly 5 stars (4.5), but I'm very stingy with my 5 stars. A great combination of historical fiction and romance - both in the present day and in the historical flashbacks. The historical side was very interesting - all about the 1708 planned Jacobite invasion/rebellion, which I didn't know anything about. Might go and find more books on the Jacobites. Well worth a read in spite of the insipid UK cover and title, neither of which really reflect the book at all.

A journalistic look at Wiggo's 2012 Tour de France and racing career leading up to that point. If you're a fan and watched every day of the Tour with bated breath like me, you'll probably really love it. It brought every stage back vividly. If you've watched the Tour for a while it'll be even better as you'll remember the earlier years described too. If you're new to cycling this won't be quite as evocative, but still a worthwhile read. As a big British cycling fan, I loved it.

A must read for any knitter - or even any crafter. It really did make me laugh out loud in places :)
