Really enjoyed this. I'd give it 4.5 stars if possible. I think it's better than Wolf Hall, which I thought tailed off a bit at the end. Of course, there's no way this one can tail off, covering the downfall of Anne Boleyn as it does! Reading one shortly after the other worked well too, as I was used to her style of writing. Looking forward to the last one in the trilogy.

I really enjoyed this - 4.5 stars. It took a little getting used to her writing style and I thought it slowed down too much at the end, but very much looking forward to reading the next one.

4.5 stars. It took me a while to read this as I took a break in the middle, but it was worth it. Very evocative. I could picture and hear the characters so clearly. Beautifully written.
