What a good story. I recommend going in as blind as you can. The only thing I will say is if you are a fan of Ethel Cain's album Preacher's Daughter, you will enjoy The Lamb.
Turns out, not a subject I'm super interested in.
Not grabbing me and I can already tell what the ending will be

It was a good book. The whole thing is told from a five year olds perspective, so it's less tense than I imagined it being. I could see a lot of parallels with the Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus, and Michelle Knight case, even though this book predates their escape by a handful of years. If you enjoyed this book, I highly recommended Berry and DeJesus' book Hope.
Gonna be honest, this isn't grabbing me and I don't wanna read it.

Reminded me of a queer version of It or The Thing. I really enjoyed this book, even if I knew from reading the back exactly what was going to happen. Full of body horror and queer love and acceptance. I liked the overall pacing and writing of this better, but the story of Manhunt more (not saying this one was bad at all, I mean it got a higher rating). Very excited to read more from Gretchen!

A very good story with a twist in the middle that becomes obvious after it's revealed. This is less of a rework or retelling of Carmilla, but more a different take or an inspiration. Carmilla is more of an omen, a usher of desire than a vampire, and it'll be interesting on a second read to know her character as such and see her in a new light. This wasn't the story I was expecting, but a delightful read nevertheless!

Started out really good, but kind of fell apart by the end. I don't know if that's because of the translation, or because they were trying to do too much. They should've kept the story small and compact, but the more they added, the looser it spun until it was more just words on a page than anything. I found it didn't really add anything to the world of Cyberpunk 2077.
Over explanation city! There's a way to world build, and explaining every minute detail that doesn't matter and making sure you don't leave implication is not it. It didn't feel organic, and easily the first chapter could be edited down by a third.
