A beautiful but devastating read. I am broken.

4.5 stars really. Gripping right from the start.

A lot of people with very similar literary tastes to me adored this book, but it just didn't click with me. It's written beautifully, but I didn't emotionally connect with Helen at all, nor did I like the 'humanisation' of Mabel.
