For someone who has recently come out of a long-term relationship, this book is incredibly sad but cathartic. It's honest about the compromises and hardships that any couple has to go through and I massively admire David Nicholls for accurately reflecting this.

3.5 really. I can see why this gets compared to Gone Girl, but it's not quite as good, largely down to some horrendous gender stereotyping and use of clichés.

Massively funny and charming. Love this woman's talent, and the fact that she didn't focus too much on her success, but on her friends and family, what gets you through the tough times, what makes you laugh, and how being nice is just great!

Really really preferred this to Rue Britannia (maybe because it's the music I used to go out dancing to in my early 20s?). Beautiful artwork, great humour and references throughout.
