This was an interesting book in that each of the three stories (detective/ mystery tales) within it are linked, but you don't really realise until you've finished. However, each story spends so long developing the characters and the plot, that the ending to each feels rather rushed and a bit clichéd. A real page-turner either way - I was just left feeling that the book left me with an unscratched itch.
