A lot of threads coming together with this one and combined with the fact I'm getting used to the pace of the series I can definitely say I had very few issues with this one. Not my favourite, but I like where things seem to be going.

Hands down my favourite of the lot so far. Rather than complicate things with about fifty new and interesting threads all at once, Aaronovitch seems to have learnt minimalism at last, and this one manages to keep you to one main plot thread while maintaining all the chaos that makes the series fun.

One of the more confusing ones of the series so far, but also one of my favourite. A lot of the previously introduced ideas are being included as the series goes on and it seems to work in favour - the first couple of books seemed so mental because they were crammed with so much information at once. Hopefully the trend continues.

Took a while to get me interested, and some of the characters fell a but flat for me, but the plot works well and kept me involved. The concept is still a great idea, and stops the book from ending up a stale murder mystery and gives it a lot more character.

I definitely found the recent stuff more interesting (and depressing), but all in all an interesting look at former not-quite prime ministers. Very well written, and with enough context that regardless of prior knowledge you can keep up reasonably well.

Really hopeful start, if a little too fast paced. Then things start to get a bit messy. Interesting concept that seemed to have a story pasted over the top of it.

Solid, no problems, but not the most memorable either. As a whole series, Rivers of London is really great and this book is no different, but I doubt it will stand out of the crowd once I read a few more of these.

I enjoyed that much more than I expected to. I didn't really know what sort of style it was going to be, but it has that sort of vibe (for want of a better word) that always appeals to me. If I'm honest, my only complaint is that it wasn't quite as uplifting as what I'd like at the moment, but I really have no criticisms of its quality.

I won't say it's my favourite crime thriller I've ever read, but it takes the sort of village drama structure and overlays the crime part on top. Definitely an interesting take, but not one that I particularly enjoyed.

Really solid. This series has so perfectly found a niche by combining fantasy with the format of a police mystery series, and it pays off. Suitably bizzarre but so well structured you almost don't notice how batshit it is.
