DID NOT FINISH: 5%

Kid is so over the monsters they can see. Ok, I can get behind it though it's a little tired. But then before the end of the second chapter we've gotten the crush who is clearly going to be taken by the monsters AND the teacher deadnaming. Nope, I'm outs.

I'm annoyed because all that build up and then
no aliens, no conclusive evidence that there aren't aliens.
Well written, but a lot of build up that went nowhere.

A little repetitive, but a very sweet message.

I get the intent but...this very much reads like if OCD or otherwise neurodiverse people would just not be accommodated by their family at all, then they would just "get over themselves." BLUGH

Very sweet, though not as amazing as the Pancakes book

Real and tough without being graphic. A very difficult line to walk, and walked very well.

This book gave me so many feelings. I love the world-building, and part of what I love is how flawed the world is. Emotional reality stings but in a good way.
