I sat down with this book late this morning, hoping to spend a few hours waiting out a rainy day in Scotland, but ended up reading the book straight through and finishing it today!

What an EXCELLENT book. I really enjoyed it. It was a story about Maria, a girl from Brasil, who went to Switzerland to be a dancer but ended up working as a prostitute. Maria is somewhat of a romantic, but swears off love after getting her heart broken a few times in her youth. She takes a very methodical, logical approach to sex and experiences a wide range of sexual experiences. She also explores pain and sex (BDSM), something I found very interesting and intriguing.

Overall, an excellent book that I may end up reading again in hopes of gleaning some additional insights.

This book was entertaining and easy to read. I was prompted to read it after seeing a few episodes of the HBO show based on this book about a year ago. Anyway, the book was very easy to read and had funny, slightly poignant stories. I'd recommend it as an easy read...

This book reminded me how racist America is. I read it while I was traveling Europe and it made me sad. But it's part of US history, and racism is still alive and well in the US still to this day, it just made me pretty sad to be an American, honestly. But it was well written, easy to read, and very entertaining. :) So I'd recommend it.

This book was pretty disappointing. I loved "Eleven Minutes" and have thus decided to read other Coelho books but I'm finding his writing style to be lacking in depth. This book in particular was quite the disappointment. Ah well. I didn't have anything else to do. Haha

I mostly buy cookbooks based on the photographs. The photos in this book are amazing!! Also, the recipes look really easy and yummy!!

I realize this book got some bad reviews on this site but I actually loved it. It made me think a lot and I totally identified with the characters. I enjoyed it!

Finally Paulo Coelho redeemed himself with this one! This is a great read - really good book, I liked it a lot. I enjoyed the story, the setting (London!) and the spiritual lessons. Good book. Made me think a lot.
