Need an Urban Paranormal fix, that emphasises detailed world building, layers of intrigue, and villains you are happy to see eaten? This is your fix!
Btw I really do mean eaten, so if you are sensitive there are bits you may have to gloss over.
However Anne Bishop does a great job captivating your imagination and building an alternative world (albeit with some familiar weekdays and continent names), which shows us what might have been if humans were not the dominant species. I loved it. Loved it so much I was done within 24 hours and this is not a small book. Looks like I will be done with all four books written so far in this series in less than 4 days.
Highly recommended if you need some mystery and animal shifting fun.

Brace yourself and hope for an early release of the final book. Loved this one though, Maas took us down some dark powerful roads and left us with a single thin string of hope...sigh.
Emotional read but so worth the almost 700 pages. Cannot wait for the final book and hopefully some miracles.
