Volume 2 spins multiple plates at once with more characters and more plot lines. It’s also a different kind of story from the last volume, which spent a lot of time exploring Earth One’s world and setting, now focuses on sociopolitical drama. However I think it’s one fans will enjoy nonetheless.

The book has wonderful interpretations of both the Sinestro Corp and veteran John Stewart. I would have liked to spend more time with these characters, but the plot was well constructed, kept a good pace, and the combination of Earth (a planet still VERY divided) taking its first steps onto the galactic stage and the arrival of the Sinestro Corp provided great sociopolitical drama. The author also did a good job on following up on the struggles of the newly revived Green Lantern Corp and how it is perceived by new planets like Earth and veterans planets like the Llaran home world. Volume 2 is VERY ambitious, and I think for the most part it pulls it off. Hopefully DC has enough willpower after the recent bloodbath to give us one more volume.
