Lots, and LOTS of action this volume. So much so that I kinda started to skim through it halfway through. Which is unfortunate. We get the backstory of some major characters this volume, and I wish the fight between Seth and Konrad hadn't worn me down.
As I think about it though, I think my problems with the fight had less to do with the fight itself, and more with the fact that the book continually cuts away from it to focus on other things. I'm not opposed to that sort of structure, but the fight felt really drawn out already, and continually cutting away without any significant development during the fight really pumped the brakes on any sort of momentum the book had. I like the world and character designs of this series, so I'm sticking around, but I hope the next volume will have a better flow to it.

Premise is great (this is something the Venom book has been building towards for quite a while). Has some pacing problems, especially towards the end which ends rather simply and abruptly considering how much they built up Carnage as a powerhouse.
The idea of a Venom fused with Captain America, Wolverine, The Thing, etc is freaking cool, and I wish they did more with it than Venom just fighting the way he always has. Would have been incredibly cool to see the suit visually represent all the people it's been bonded to in the past and for the way it fights to represent that as well.
From what I've heard online, this collection is missing the next issue which is a FAR better conclusion than what's in this book. An entertaining, horror-filled blockbuster, but far from perfect.

Wow, Kirkman took a pretty ordinary premise from the first volume and did some REALLY cool stuff with it! The conflict between the Cole brothers was great (both had great perspectives, but flawed actions), the cliffhanger from the last volume payed off in really cool ways, and we got another fantastic tease for what's to come in the next volume.
Kirkman's taken his experiencing writing the characters in Walking Dead and using it make some really fleshed out characters working through and processing their trauma in interesting and some surprisingly healthy ways. If the first volume didn't do it for you, pick up the next. This has sold me on the series.

Beautiful, haunting, and mesmerizing. That's how I'd describe the world and story this game built. The official art book showcases the concept art made for the game's various characters, locations, and creatures and the goals they had when designing the world's styles and cultures. It's all stunning frankly (and that's coming from someone who hasn't actually played the game!) Its absolutely worth your time and money.
Also, special sidenote: the book is entirely spoiler free!!! So if you want to read this ahead of playing the game, you can do so without ruining the main plot! :D
