I love when a book is set in a location I know well. Trondheim is a beautiful city, and it was fun to revisit it. Great plot, well paced with interesting characters and a very enjoyable read.

I don't envy Felicia having to learn Trøndersk, though. Been there.

A great read from an author I've been reading for over 20 years and one I look forward to every year.

I enjoyed this one. Kellerman fell flat for a couple of books in the last few years, but this one was solidly back on track. Great plot; although it's easy to pick out the who in Kellerman's books, it's always the why that keeps me reading, and this one was no exception. I also liked that it flowed well and was well-focused; right from the first page, it got right into the plot. No easing into it, and the pace didn't let up until the end. I've noticed in several books that it gets bogged down in the middle (usually with Alex massaging his OCD) but there was little (if any) of that in this book.

A solid read to curl up with on a winter weekend.

I won't rate this, because I can't finish it. I didn't even make it through the first chapter. If this was the author's 1st book, I might be able to overlook the cutesy, overly simple writing. But after 18 books, I'd expect a little more polish and a tone that reflected a middle-aged woman, not a breathless 16 year old.

Also how can a small town doctor have enough money to hire a private jet, buy a "trousseau" for several women, fund a vacation in Las Vegas? He better be Hannah's next victim, because he's burning through his retirement money pretty fast.

Count me out.

3.5 stars, pretty good for the first in a new series. I'm a sucker for stories set in a coastal community, and a library set in a lighthouse is a cute touch. The plot had a lot of twists and turns, kept me guessing until the end. I thought the characters could've been fleshed out a little more, most were one-dimensional scenery. Also a hint of a dreaded love triangle (ugh!) that I'm hoping is not long and drawn out.

Definitely a promising start and I look forward to reading the next book in the series.

More like 2.5 stars. A Wee Murder In My Shop had a cute idea and an interesting plot involving murder, greed and a time traveling Scottish ghost. Cute, and not bad for the first in a series, but needed some extensive editing. It took 3 chapters just for the MC to find the body because all the characters were standing around talking about nonsense. The MC indulges in too much inner dialogue, and the Scots dialogue got old after awhile.

Pared down, this could be one lean, mean cozy mystery machine and I'll probably give the next one a try to see if the writing gets any better. But for now, rating this one a strong Just Ok.
