After hearing a lot of buzz on how good this book is (I won't name names, ahem) I finally gave it a try and I'm glad I did. It was a quick and fun read, and it was easy to settle in to the setting. The plot was fairly basic and the characters not well rounded but it's the first book in this series, which gives it room to grow. But very enjoyable, it kept my attention more than I probably should have allowed (oh well, the dishes can wait) and I hope the next book in the series isn't far off.
Not a bad book, but didn't hold my attention, I kept putting down for other pursuits.
Just ok. To much inner dialogue (why so much of the book is devoted to the soon to be ex boyfriend is beyond me, she didn't seem to care about him much) and the plot was terrible. Character development was iffy, too many secondary characters introduced with little or no context. Overall there's room to grow, so maybe it'll get better but I won't rush out to get the next one.
I don't know what it is about this series that I love so much. Did the magical cats put me under their spell? I'll never know. Although the plot was easy to figure out and there was the stereotypical damsel in distress ending, I still enjoyed it. I thought the book dragged a bit around 2/3 into it, seemed like filler to me. Overall, a great, fast read and I can't wait to read more.
Not as good as the earlier books in the series. The whole Marcus storyline is contrived, there's no chemistry between them at all. The plot was painfully slow to develop. I hope it's just a mid-series slump and doesn't carry over to later books.
Yeah, no, not going to finish. Maybe if I'd read the first one, but I doubt it. Also gave away the ending to the first book, so no point in reading that one either.
