A quick, easy read. I liked it, but didn't love it. The plot was a little convoluted, some of the characters were a little annoying. Overall, I enjoyed it, though.
The latest installment in the Scott Cullen series, Dyed in the Wool is the best one yet. The plot was intricate, veering from the death of a man in what seems to be an accident to fight clubs, soccer hooligans and murder. As always, following Cullen on the investigation's many twist and turns is action packed and hard to put down.
Really enjoyed the book, the development of the secondary characters added greatly to the story without being a lot of wordy filler. Also nice to see Cullen begin to mature past the woe-is-me emo twat stage and grow a pair.
The Cullen series is a solid piece of work and I can't recommend it enough. The only criticism (if you can call it that) is some threads in the story are dropped (or not explored fully) and I can only assume that they'll come up again in later books (for example, where did Tom disappear off to? It was talked about that he'd not been spending much time at home, but not why). But a good read that doesn't get bogged down and always a good ending to the story.

Not a great book, it didn't really engage me. I would give it 1.5 stars but had to settle for 2 because while it was terrible, it wasn't very good.
I think this is the first book published by this author, and I desperately hope it becomes a series. The protagonist reminds me a lot of Goldy Schultz. Loved the setting, the characters and the plot was satisfying. Really enjoyed reading it and I'm hoping for more!
The last book in the Lily Bard series and it showed. While it was nice to see Lily resolve many of her issues, the plot itself meandered around until it mercifully came to an unsatisfying end. I haven't felt this cheated since I read Murder On The Orient Express.
Worth the read to close out the series, which is why I gave it 2 stars, but if I was judging on the merits of story alone it would have garnered only 1 star.

This is the third book in the Dead Detective series and it was just as good as the first two books. While the tone of this book was a little darker than the previous books, I'd say it hasn't changed the quality of the story at all. Although I figured out who the murderer was pretty easily (I have to say, many clues were fairly overt) I enjoyed watching the plot unfold to a great ending. Very enjoyable and and a quick read.
I began reading this series years ago and read each book as I could find them. After reviewing the list of The Cat Who books, I realized there were 2 that I hadn't read, this one and #20. I love the simplicity of the stories, the small town charm (I'm from a small town, so I find it easy to relate to the setting) and I enjoy the eccentric characters. This series is the literary equivalent of fast food, quick and easy and enjoyable, you can pick up one of these books and finish it off in an afternoon.
