Overall this was a cute, quick and fun read - it takes place almost entirely within Mara and Liam's house, and within around 6 months of time.
I loved both Mara and Liam - the initial meeting was nicely done, the sparks were flying; and the scenes of domesticity were cute to read too.
I think I had a smile on my face for like 95% of this book to be honest with you - but that's not to say it was perfect - Mara's attitude considering the fact she'd basically moved herself into someone else's home left something to be desired; there seemed to be a distinct lack of STEM, I assume because it was just a novella and there wasnt much scope to expand on this aspect of the story; and ugh I can't with the 'his whole hand was the size of her torso' - is she Thumbelina and he a giant?!
You may think I didn't enjoy this, but I actually did - however I'm trying to actually give a review now rather than just gloss over parts that I didn't like or enjoy.

I just really did not like this one. Can put my finger on why as I normally love Slaughter. But her standalone just don't work for me unfortunately.

I absolutely loved this, such a lovely slow paced read. A well thought out storyline and engaging characters, with lots of heart - can't wait to continue with the rest of the series.

Very emotive read, raw and at times almost painful to read. Hard to put down.

Slow going, eventual reveal fell a bit flat if I'm honest. Easy read, didn't require much thinking on my end.

*Though this is marketed as a standalone, I would highly recommend that you read The Glass Hotel prior.*
Wow. Excuse me while I go buy every book Emily has written. I really enjoyed Station Eleven when I read it last year, and was pleased to be approved to read Sea of Tranquility. By chance I saw a review that mentioned you should read The Glass Hotel first, so I dutifully ordered and devoured it, and I'd definitely recommend reading it prior.
The Sea of Tranquility is a book about Gaspery, a man who through luck (?) becomes an investigator of anomalies in time - though this doesn't quite describe what the book is about. Maybe it's about a violinist, the moon, or an author, or a pandemic...it's about them all and I can see me thinking about it for a long time.

Really fun, lighthearted romcom. I liked the main character and all of her various family and friends.
The Bubbles aspect was lovely, though sad at times. Absolutely adored both Sir and Sebastien, their various differences and similarities. This is one of my favourite tropes too, so big plus.
Perfect to curl up with and devour in one sitting, which is what I did. And I'll definitely be checking out Lauren's other books!

A wind-y tale that jumps between various times, places and people. Really enjoyable, slow paced story. Love Emily's writing.

Just when you think you've got the story pegged and realise you have another 20% to go.
Absolutely fantastic read, I honestly struggled to out it down. Read it in two sittings. Loved both Emma and Leo's povs, plus the back and forth between then and now. Emma was a very complex character, and whilst I can see why things played out the way they did, it was very interesting to see how Janice wove her story too, and how it affected Emma.
I did guess the connection fairly on, but had no idea of how it would all come together. Very well written, and I'm sure it's one I'll continue to think about for a while.
