Under Loch and Key

⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
Quick read.
Like a mythical spicy romance with a HAE.
It was cute. Not exactly what I was expecting.
The Guest
By B.A. Paris
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This one started off a little slow but the twist at the end was *chefs kiss* SO GOOD.
I enjoy B.A. Paris’ books. The twists are always well planned.
Read this if you’re a fan of B.A. Paris’ other books, or the likes of Laine Moriarty.

This Should Be Fun
By E.B. Asher
⭐️⭐️
Add this to the list of books I wish I would have dnf’d.
No matter how much I don’t enjoy the book, I never learn to READ THE SYNOPSIS FIRST.
This book wasn’t terrible.
It was just juvenile, drawn out and boring until the last 3 chapters.
There was just enough spicy scenes to make this YA and not middle grade.

The Inheritance
By Trisha Sakhlecha
⭐️⭐️⭐️
As drama unfolds during a getaway on a private island, the nuisance of “family” takes center stage.
I honestly don’t know what to think about this book.
It’s heartbreaking.
It was a quick read. NOT a thriller by any means. I’d call it a suspenseful mystery.

Plated Prisoner # 6
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
Wow. What a marathon.
The Plated Prisoner series is a 6-book long Midas retelling… ish.
In the final installment, there are battles and deaths and peace and love and resurrections. And spice. It’s the culmination of everything I hoped it would be.
There are the little pieces left unreconciled, but they really don’t take away from the story.
I’m glad I stuck with it. It was worth it.

I Would Die For You

Thank you NetGalley and MacMillan Audio for my advanced audio copy. All opinions are my own.
Domestic twisty thriller about buried secrets and a hidden past that doesn’t stay hidden.
For 25 years, Nicole thinks she has escaped the secrets in her past.
But suddenly her family is thrust in the middle of her unraveling secrets.
This book started off slow but quickly evolved into an I-need-to-know fast-paced saga filled mystery and flashbacks, and ending with an unbelievable cliffhanger.

The First Wife’s Shadow

Thank you NetGalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing for the advanced copy. All opinions are my own.
This book pissed me off. Don’t stop here, keep reading ⬇️
As a member of the over-40 community, and a woman who has held a high stress job, the idiocy of the main character was offensive.
I struggled to get in to this book.
And there was spacing issues on the ARC which gave me an actual headache.
At 35% I wanted to DNF. At half-way through, the whole plot is revealed.
OR SO I THOUGHT.
I flew through the back half because it was GOOD. The twists were well done.
We are left with some absolution and the age-old question: does the end always justify the means?
Also. PSA: trust your gut.
And read this book. Available 3/18 on all the platforms.

I had to sit with this one and collect my thoughts.
The violence. The mafia. The revenge. The SPICE.
*fans face*
This wasn’t exactly a Little Mermaid retelling but the little ‘Easter eggs’ in the story made me feel some nostalgia for the 1989 Disney film.
The insta-lust was done well. It was entertaining throughout.
Famous Last Words

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Ok. First of all, I knew something was off.
Then I knew he was a bad guy. You know the one. (No spoilers here).
But THAT ENDING SHOOK ME.
And then the reconciliation was done SO WELL.
This was a fast-paced, read-in-one-sitting, un-put-downable thriller.
The sister was a little insufferable though.
