I, too, hate the number 9.

I want to rate this higher because then ending was so good and magical and amazing, but the first 50% wasn't it for me really.

I still don't understand why y'all like the darkling and Alina is a dumbass. That's the tea.

This felt like a spinoff of a book series I should have already read. There wasn't enough world-building, most especially since this is supposed to be a series. I'm really bummed because I really wanted to like this book, but, I really didn't. The whole time just felt "meh", I hated, I mean hated Brighton, nothing about him is likable. And there were too many holes in the story that....I would have preferred to be answered and just take Brighton out of the book entirely. :(
