I found the art in this story to be really incredible and creepy, as it should be. However, I felt like the execution of the art within stories was somewhat clumsy. There was also an aspect of silliness to it that I'm not sure was intentional. I wanted this to be "make me too scared to sleep" but mostly I just found a lot of it to be...obscure? Some stories were hard to follow in that I wasn't sure what was supposed to be frightening about it outside of the art itself. The stories weren't particularly frightening and felt more like "Twilight Zone" occurrences with an excess of silly tongues and naked bodies. I'm really sad to say that this wasn't it for me, even though I like Junji Ito's work usually.
