I wish I could rate this negative 1 star.
If you wanted to read a book that feels like The Real Housewives of Dallas except someone dies and they're all under suspicion, I suppose this is that. However, it's like that, if the producers didn't edit out all their inane thoughts, and two of them had an incredibly inappropriate relationship with teenage boys.
This thriller is about drinking and driving, cheating on your spouse with a teenager, and ruining your life instead of going to therapy even though you can afford it.
Oh, and there's a murder, but no one really cares about that (and it doesn't happen) until about 60% into the book. The rest is just drinking, driving, shooting guns, and sleeping with teenage boys when you're an almost 40-year-old woman. Also comp het, but that's just...a whole other thing I'm not willing to unpack, and the book definitely won't be doing so either.
Enjoy.
