Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for giving me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Cooke has done an incredible job of combining many concepts. From witch trials, to sci-fi, and adding in familial trauma and potential murder, this was a fun mixed bag. I really enjoyed the way all these things played out. The varying points of view, including from different time periods, was well thought out and well written. Honestly, even the incredibly frustrating way the women and children were written was comparable to reality.
Overall, I enjoyed this book fully. While I wish the book had been a tad longer to allow for more development, it was still great. If you like witch trials, paranormal things, and creepy children, this book is something you should check out. It’s easy to follow, and the ending left me pretty satisfied.

Overall, this was an enjoyable book with plenty of fantastical elements. It's incredibly dark, though, and heartbreaking. I would be hesitant to recommend it to middle-grade readers for that fact alone. It's definitely one of those books where the parent would need to decide what's appropriate for their kid, as obviously, not all kids handle things at the same levels. The adventure Clara goes on to save Esteban was frightening, but incredibly interesting. The metaphorical conversation of fate versus free will though felt a bit over the heads of the intended reading age.

The Might was an interesting finale of the Raven Rings series. It did take a bit to get into, the laying back out of the world dragged. The second book had this issue as well, and it caused me to pick it up and put it down for a few days several times. However, once we got into the actual action of the plot, things really picked up. Hirka is finally starting to seem more of the age she's presented as, and her growth across the books is realistic and well done. The parts with Rime were considerably less interesting, however, and I found his personal struggles were not something I cared about. All in all, though, this was an incredibly well-done finale and wrapped things up in an enjoyable way.

2.5 stars, rounded up. This is hard to explain how I felt about it. It was fast-paced, much like many domestic thrillers are. I wanted to know what happened badly enough that I continued reading it. Yet, I never felt too stressed about what was happening. There was never a moment where I had any kind of genuine reaction to what was happening. Even when things came to a peak, the resolution was so...tame that I didn't know how to feel. Sure, I appreciate that our main characters were understanding of mental health but...otherwise, this wasn't really a satisfying plot to read.
