"A life worth dying for is a life worth living..."
Rin Chupeco does it once again and trumps her previous novels in the series with the finale. I didn't get the happy ending I wanted, but I got the happy ending I needed. This book contains so much emotional bonding and story in it that I was worried the ends wouldn't be tied up after all, but they all were. All my questions were answered, and all my worries unnecessary.
The amount of representation in this book should have more notice in the book community, in my opinion. An incredibly well-done book, that made me feel a lot more than I expect.
"Every path I've chosen, and every decision I've made, you were my one constant."
"He believes in books, that much he knows for sure."
The Starless Sea is a book lover's book about book lovers, and the things they're willing to do for the story. It feels like a grown-up Inkworld, a fantastical experience to watch piece together page after page.
"These doors will sing, silent siren songs for those who seek what lies behind them. For those who feel homesick for a place they've never been to."
Erin Morgenstern weaves these stories in and out of each other in a way that makes this book feel like home. Each chapter has a new experience waiting, and each closing of a chapter leaves you hungry for more. While the book is slow to start, the more you dig into it, the more you want of it. It is a beautifully written, and wonderfully made book. Well worth waiting for.
"We are the stars. We are all stardust and stories."
