Reid's best work to date. I love the characters, the way the story is told, and how the plot only gets better and better as the book progresses. Multiple storylines tugged at my emotions and sucked me in! If you are going to read any of Reid's works I suggest this one, I loved the variety of relationships that were portrayed and how Reid held all of them to a high significance, all an equal part of the story.
I loved this book! The interview style was a nice change up to read and the relationships between the characters were interesting as well. It seemed very derivative of Fleetwood Mac but I love them so this did not bother me one bit. I would recommend this book to anyone who is into 60's-70's inspired stories.
Murakami has such a unique approach to books and I love how he is able to meld together "real life" and supernatural aspects. Kafka does this beautifully. I was heavily interested the entire time and I loved the crazy aspects such as the Colonel Sanders cameo.
Such a raw, touching coming of age novel. Rowell made me fall in love with both Eleanor and Park in this true teen romance. The way she described the characters' interactions and inner dialogue made me feel like I was back in high school. Eleanor's struggles were also detailed with such saddness that I wanted to reach through the pages and help her myself. A must read for YA romance lovers.
While I enjoyed this book, it is not for the weak! This book outlines the use of people as a means of meat and the imagery described is truly disturbing. The themes throughout the book reign true right up until the very end, in a gut punching fashion. A true dystopian work that made me think about humanity as a whole.
A psychological thriller that revolves around a couple going to visit his family. What could go wrong?
I enjoyed this book but, either I am a bit jaded or it is easy to see the ending coming. If the ending wasn't so predictable I would have enjoyed the title a bit more but, I did still like to see it all come together. If it were longer I would have gotten more annoyed with it and rated it lower lol.

OOF. I loved this book SO MUCH! The relationships (especially Evelyn's ~one true love~) were so well thought out and brought to life by Reid. I shed many tears throughout the book at the many different loves that Evelyn had throughout her life. Reid did an amazing job at tying the past with the present, again in a way that definitely evoked emotion from me. This is one of Reid's best.
Grady Hendrix can do no wrong. I have no personal ties to metal/rock music and I seriously enjoyed this book. There were numerous twists and turns and I love how the 2 female narratives tied together in the second half of the book. The rock world created in this work sucked me in and I was sad to finish.
I liked this book a whole lot more than I anticipated. The beginning was slow but, the protagonist drew me in and made me stick with the story. As the book progressed, the plot picked up quickly and contained numerous twists and turns that I would have never predicted. The language painted vivid pictures in my mind of the house and its "unique" features. I wouldn't necessarily classify this book as scary but, if you want a thrilling spooky tale this is a good one.
This is my first collection of short stories by King and I loved the change of pace from him, as I have read some of his longer novels in the past. While he is usually revered as the "King" of horror novels, personally I feel that they move a little slow for me. Because these were short stories I feel I was able to connect to them easier and was more interested in the plot. I liked If It Bleeds but, The Life of Chuck and Rat were the two stories that stole the book for me. This book is going to have me on the hunt for more short horror stories by King.
