I'm updating this review, despite the fact that it's been a while since reading this. I've reflected on it more and really heard a number of people of color talking about it. I do think that this can be a useful resource for white people just starting to think about race. However, the book caters to the white fragility that it discusses and there is a lot to unpack about that. There are books that have what is laid out in this book and more to them that are written by people of color. This book might be more approachable for people who have yet to reflect on racism, but how good of an ally can you be if this is the only book you feel comfortable reading?
