❤︎ NETGALLEY REVIEW ❤︎

thank you inkyard press, gabriella lepore and netgalley for this arc for free in exchange for an honest review.

i was in a reading slump and this book caught my eye and got me out of it. this book definitely gave off pretty little liars vibes. i liked that we got first person pov in multiple povs. the flashbacks were a bit much and had me a little confused but it added to the plot. the police interviews were a nice touch. i was definitely second guessing myself on who i thought may have done it. i didn’t trust anyone, not even paul. it was an enjoyable easy read that keeps you guessing and wanting more.

❤︎ NETGALLEY REVIEW ❤︎

thank you to netgalley, delacorte press, and laura steven for this arc for free in exchange for an honest review.

i have never read a retelling of dr. jekyll and mr. hyde. the author did a good job of setting the scene for it though. the pacing was a bit off because some chapters seemed like it was building up to an amazing event but when it actually came it didn’t feel as good as the buildup. however, i liked how she gave a backstory of the school and dove right in to the main characters flaws. overall the book was good, it did take me a little to start reading it and actually get into it. i do recommend if you like quick, dark academia books with some teen drama.

❤︎ NETGALLEY REVIEW ❤︎

thank you to netgalley, st. martin’s press and kristin hannah for this arc for free in exchange for an honest review.

this novel is about the women who went to vietnam in different roles to help the troops, it was written very well ; i really felt frankie’s fear, love and her heartbreak while reading this. kristin hannah did such a great job by showing the way that vets (nurses and troops) struggled with ptsd, addiction, thoughts of suicide, depression and betrayal when coming home from vietnam war. i highly recommend putting this in your tbr, the book releases february 6th, 2024.

♡ ARC REVIEW ♡

First off I want to say thank you again to the amazing author J.R Dust to allow me to be an arc reader for her 1st book of a 10 book series. I got this arc in exchange for a honest review.

BOOK OVERVIEW

Lora
My mama said that the world was ending (again - because of course, once wasn't enough) and that the world would be renewed. I never believed her until I was sent to live with the creatures that had taken over the Earth, enslaved humans and scared us into hiding. Now I've met the beginning of the end and I have no doubt that he'll be my ruin, as well as the world's.

Ghurson
I was sent to Earth for one reason and one reason alone. I knew what to expect and I understood what was expected of me. What I didn't anticipate in the mission I was given was that I would find a little thing like her, a woman so desperately in need of ruining that I managed to put the world ending on hold just so that I could consume her. I am utterly famished for her.

REVIEW

This book is very fast-paced and it kept me glued the entire time. Lora & Ghurson have great chemistry from the beginning. I love his protectiveness over her. As always J.R has a badass FMC that can hold their own. I loved the open and honest discussion between them about feelings, emotions, & love. Certain parts of the story did feel rushed/incomplete at times, but other than that it was a great read.
