I wanted to know if this book lived up to the hype. I can definitely see why other people enjoyed the story, but it just wasn't for me. I didn't connect with any of the characters, but that's probably because they're so fantastical. The setting and world created was terrifying and not one that I'd want to visit. Kaz's character was well-developed and entertaining, but at times I couldn't follow his train of thought. This all being said, the cover is one of the most gorgeous I have ever seen. To some people this doesn't matter, but I am a fan of beautiful book covers!

Did the ending feel out of place for anyone else? I couldn't wait to find out how this series would end so I devoured "War Storm." There was tons of action and character development, but I would've liked to have a little more information. I was left wanting more about Mare's family, Evangeline, Kilorn, and Tyton, who I feel like was featured a lot more in this book for some reason. I have always wanted Mare's journey to be about her discovering more about herself as a newblood and less about choosing between Cal and Maven. I remember thinking, I would love if Mare didn't end up in a relationship with either guy. No spoilers, but I liked the decision she made at the end of the story. Overall not a bad story at all, just a very bland ending.

Beautiful illustrations and a wonderful story. This book shouldn't be as underrated as it is! I could see it becoming a classic. Such an original idea and it was executed in such a fun story.

I was really impressed by how this book made meditation and mindfulness easy and straightforward for young kids. I totally recommend this for anyone teaching yoga to little kids! It makes mindfulness a tangible and understandable idea, which is something that most adults can't even comprehend. Such a cute little book.
