Aza is the most realistic and vulnerable character John Green has ever created. Having struggled with ocd and anxiety myself, it was comforting to read about someone who understands that. I was amazed at the detail and accuracy Green used when describing Aza's internal thoughts. I've thought some of the same things Aza did. It was astonishing how much of the story went on in Aza's thoughts. I've never connected with Green's YA characters like I did with Aza. It was wonderful how the book wasn't all about Aza and Davis's relationship. I did like them together, but I loved how the story was very much about Aza and not her finding a boyfriend. The first page, the first sentence of this book, hooked me.
