I listened to this on audiobook and it was phenomenal. The narration wonderful and engaging, I didn’t want to stop listening! And the book itself was completely on par with what I expected from Penny Reid. It has witty banter and snark, just enough excitement and danger, and the perfect chemistry and steam.

I loved this one just as much as the Winston brothers (which I recommend to basically everyone) and will be making my way through the rest of the knitting club quickly!

Penny Reid has done it again! If you’ve ever asked me for a romance recommendation, I’ve probably told you to read the Winston Brothers. But I’m going to be adding this to my “recommend to everyone” list!

Rex and Abby were the perfect second-chance(ish) mixed with fake engagement romance, and I need more!!!

This was my first Wilder family book, but I loved it and will definitely be going back to start at the beginning. I don’t think not reading the others distracted from this book at all, so it’s safe to say you can read these out of order if you must, but I bet you’ll want to read them all!

This was a fake-dating, small town romance with the perfect amount of banter and laughter to tone down the otherwise serious topics of grief and infidelity that were the foundation of our characters.

TW: prior death of a spouse, cheating spouse/ex

To say that I was honored to be able to read The Last Eligible Billionaire ARC would be an understatement. And I binged it in a day! Fake dating is my current fave trope and it doesn’t get better than Pippa Grant.

So far, she's made every book a laugh-out-loud rom com and I find the steam level to be just right while definitely not something I’d recommend to Grandma. The dialog reads like a scene directly out of an Amy Sherman-Palladino show (Gilmore Girls, Bunheads, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel) with quick and witty banter that often has your eyes flying across the page feeling like you’re watching a tennis match. And the internal monologue is hilarious as well.

Hayes is the perfect grumpy to Begonia's sunshine and I loved them so much that I was thrilled to find not one, but 2 BONUS epilogues in this book. And that's in addition to the standard epilogue! But Pippa also writes amazing side characters, and I'd be so happy if she decided to continue the story of just about any one of them from this book as well. They're still supporting characters, but written in a way that makes you want more of everyone.

I thought the concept of this book was pretty unique. I don't recall ever reading anything at all like it, and it had a very interesting... magic system (?) I guess you'd call it...

There were some romantic elements, but I wouldn't say it was a "romance" by any stretch. It was creepy, but not in a sense that I would call it horror either. Very mild horror elements perhaps.

I did feel that there were some things that seemed a tiny bit off, like I got tripped on the pacing a time or two, which may also be attributed to reading in a house full of kids. But overall, it's a very solid debut and I'm looking forward to whatever that author comes up with next.

Love at First Spite was not exactly what I was expecting, but in a good way. From the title, I was expecting an enemies-to-lovers type of romance, with plenty of animosity and verbal sparring. But I was actually pleasantly surprised to find that the title seemed to be more of a play on the overall theme, rather than the romance you will find within the pages. Without getting too spoilerly, I'll just say that if you go into this book expecting something like The Hating Game, you'll probably be disappointed.

Overall, I really enjoyed this romance. There were a few times where I almost rolled my eyes at the actions of the female main character, but just passed it off as entertainment and/or shock factor and let it go. This was a quick read, nice and light for the most part.

TW: cheating spouse/divorce

The Kindred was everything I love in a book. This YA Sci-Fi had a unique world (or rather universe) but was also set in very familiar territory, so it was an easy and enjoyable read. There was a lot of diverse representation among the entire cast of characters and the plot was engaging and somewhat suspenseful. Romance did play a decently large part in the overall themes, so much so that I would even go as far as to classify this as a romantic suspense.

I listened to the audio as well and really enjoyed the narration. I would definitely recommend it for audio lovers.

Another fantastic Tessa Bailey rom-com! I absolutely adored It Happened One Summer and was delighted to learn that Fox and Hannah's story would also be coming and it certainly did not disappoint! Hook, Line, and Sinker is a steamy friends-to-lovers. I adore Fox and loved seeing his transformation from ladies man to Hannah's man. And Hannah is just the most lovable and understanding woman, pushing to make him a better man.

While the book definitely followed Hannah's story as well, I was really drawn to Fox's personal growth story and how Hannah helped him. It was refreshing to see the character arc heavily focused on the male main character for a change, rather than primarily the female.

I highly recommend both of these books, along with all of Tessa Bailey's other works. She has become one of my go-to romance authors and I always recommend these two to anyone who will listen!

This was a fun, quick romance. I'm having a great time with the Wilder family even though I'm reading them out of order.

This was a great brother's best friend romance, with plenty of steam and my favorite misunderstood (or just misjudged) man.
