Another one that took me a little while to get into but once I was in I was hooked! Loved the layers in this story, somehow I was not expecting the twist at all!! Similar story structure to She Who Became the Sun, but it was fun to contrast the MC’s and the different means they would take to reach their goals. Zhu is a lot more cutthroat than Xingyin but I appreciated that Xingyin knew her boundaries and wasn’t going to sacrifice her morals or follow the rules that others set for her.

I just wanna finish this series and be done with it

Tough to get into at first but so so worth it. I could have used a character glossary at times but i was impressed by the amount of characters that had depth and layers and hidden desires and agendas.

but not one Esen-Ouyang kiss??? Not even one??

Stories with a big cast of characters that all have their own unique relationships with each other and fully fledged personalities are just my favorite.

I’m sure a decent amount of it was lost on me due to lack of Shakespeare knowledge, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

I loved all of the K-pop elements, but as a whole, the story was pretty plain and predictable. I liked some of the side characters but Jenny and Jaewoo were pretty flat.
