I think I'm going to get hate on this but I just don't get the hype.
Was it well written, yes (however, overly complex and I wasn't a fan of the subtext)
Was it an interesting story, yes (however, it is way too long and the pacing was rough)
Was it an important story, yes (however, it was a bit heavy handed/on the nose)

Additionally, I wasn't impressed with the magic system. I wanted more fantasy and adventure. I don't think dark academia is for me.

The book had a strong start with a lot of mystery, suspense and murder but I think it was a bit overly complex of a mystery and a bit farfetched.

I enjoyed the dual timelines and thought it brought a lot to each of the characters however I was still left with some questions. Also the use of all the snow boarding jargon was lost on me. I have no idea what a crippler.

Although I appreciate every person who contributed their stories to this project, the book lacked guidance and clarity. The stories felt disjointed and it was missing the authors voice in between stories. No point in continuing for me.

One of the most beautiful found family books I've ever read. Although at times, I've felt that April was a bit immature and didn't exactly grow. However, I have to keep in mind she is a teenager/very young adult.

Mia wakes up in a hospital, unable to remember anything about her life. The only thing she has is a Prada dress and her phone.

This book turns into a journey of Mia trying to regain her memory. She makes terrible choices, continues to lie and of course embraces her #Millennial self.

The second hand embarrassment I got from reading this book is crazy! Seriously I cringed my way through this. The use of hashtags and "Millennial" language was so bad. The character choices make no sense. This was just SOOOOO bad. Plus nothing really was solved. Just skip this.

I find it extremely hard to rate a memoir. It's not my life or story and so putting a star rating on it feels a bit insensitive. I'm going middle of the road here but not because of the story but because of my ability to relate and enjoy the story telling.

I listened to this as an audio book which is my preferred way to consume memoirs and I had a hard time with it. Although the story and raw and emotional and at times very funny and bright, there was some things that didn't sit quite right with me. It also felt rushed. Perhaps if this author writes more I may pick it up because I'm interested to see where their journey goes.

I could not put this book down!
The twist was so unexpected for me and once I figured it out, my mind was blown.

The Thursday Murder Club was sold to me as a mysterious adventure of a group of retired folks solving a murder. There was certainly murder, I guess the group solved it?
This book put me into the longest reading slump. It took me months to finish it. The root of the story is clever and fantastic, however, it is the dryest writing ever. I was so bored trying to get through this. Also, I found the end/wrap up of all the mysteries to be a little lazy. The big reveal was so underwhelming and I can't help but be disappointed after all the time I spent with this one.

I definitely will not be continuing on with this series.

This was *almost* 5 stars! The story was wonderful, characters well thought out and I moved quickly. However, it was too quick and it all wrapped up almost too neatly. I think it could have used another 50 pages at least.
Still great though!

A tense book that will have you wondering what's next. It was well written and a scary journey. However I wanted just a bit more emotional buy in. Still a good read!
