Beautifully written and immersive. I was sucked into this world and forgot that I knew some of these stories already. Madeline Miller makes it all seem new and exciting. 

This was heartwarming and I enjoyed the back and forth timelines. However, I did find myself losing interest during times. 

Am I reading a different book than everyone else?!? I truly dont get the hype with this one. This is my second time picking this up, I DNF'd it a few years ago. I thought maybe I wasnt at the right point in my life to hear this information so I gave up to return later. Well its later and this still sucks.

I'm sorry...but no it's not okay to not give a fuck about anything. In fact, I think its kind of cool to give a fuck about a lot if things, to live life and feel all the emotions, and to walk through life with confidence. 

I felt like the goal of this book was to tear everyone down. The guy is so smug and arrogant and I didn't buy into one piece of bullshit he was spreading. He definitely has a boomer mentality and it's not something I vibe with. 

If this book helped you, I am SO happy for you. But this was not it for me and I truly don't think people should read this. 

I loved this story! All the characters were so unique and worked together to form this wonderful plot. 

Chanel transports you into her life post assault and it is heartbreaking. If you have experienced any form of sexual assault, unwanted touching, or comments then you know her story because it is likely just like yours. I appreciated the deep dive into the legal processes as that is something we don't hear much about in these cases. I wish Chanel the best in her future and hope no other woman has to experience this. Unfortunately we know that there is many cases just like hers and so all I can say is please just believe women. 

This was okay. Very typical rom-com. But famous people problems in books just aren't for me. I lose interest so fast. 

This is a hot mess from start to finish and I ate it up! 

If you're unaware of the impact the fashion industry has on the environment and social justice issues then definitely pick this up. You'll learn a ton. 

If you're already informed, this is just surface level and you probably won't learn much. 

This author thrives when telling her own stories about her own experiences. I think she too often takes quotes from others to fill in. I think this would have worked better as a 100 page guide over a full length book.

This book makes NO sense. The time jumps back and forth are just hard to follow, the characters all kind of suck and aren't fleshed out enough for the reader to understand their actions. 
At this point, I might as well finish the series but damn what a mess.

I cannot believe the TV show came from this book. I had such high hopes and was a little disappointed with the source material. It lacked so much emotional connection and plot. Also Belly is unbearable. I'm going to finish the series because it's short and I am hoping it gets better.
