Despite the very suggestive cover design and title, this has a lot more plot than one would expect. Normally that's not something I would complain about but I didn't sign up for family angst. The amount of miscommunication and misunderstandings between the FMC and her family members was so incredibly frustrating and annoying that I was so close to DNFing the book. But it's the basic "daddy abandoned me and mommy and has a pefect family and now he wants me in his life, uh oh it was all a misunderstanding and he actually really loves me and regrets his actions" formula. 

Though the title says Sugar Daddies, Carl and Rick were only actually her sugar daddies for like the first 150 pages. And though the cover design is very explicit, the smut was pretty vanilla tbh. I would give is a 3/5 on the spice scale. Pretty average. The spiciest thing about the smut was that it's a threesome but we all already knew that. 

The horses plot felt very... extra? I don't know, I'm not convinced by the FMC's love for Samson and I feel like the scenes she spent with him were inserted rather randomly. 

Overall, this was rather disappointed and fell short of my expectations in many different ways. Maybe it's because I've read my fair share of sugar daddy romances and some of them had been absolutely amazing, this one just sadly wasn't great.

Finally picked this up after it has rotted ages on my TBR and it definitely starts with a great hook and keeps reeling you in. 

Payton is broke af, running away from past demons, is so wary of everyone that the first person who makes her feel safe has her immediately lowering all her guards though she remains skittish. Tbh Payton's behaviour is similar to a puppy who has just been removed from an abusive home. Not that that's a bad thing, just amusing as it is established how much she desperately wants a dog in her life one day (we all know where this is going). 

Nero (is it neh-row or knee-roe?) is hands down the biggest drama-queen character I've ever seen as a big bad mafia man! He has the most dramatic inner monologue that I'm constantly giggling into my pillow. Everyone thinks he's a broody, dark and dangerous man but he's really such a softy from the start. 

While I loved the start and ending of the book, I didn't enjoy the minor misunderstanding in between. It was resolved pretty quickly and didn't drag on but it was painful to read because it felt rather forced and unnecessary. It seems Ms Tilly likes having her couples work through a misunderstanding to strengthen their relationship but the one in this book felt unnatural and contrived. The final act was also rather anticlimactic which was a bit disappointing as the build-up had been going on from nearly the start. 

Otherwise, this was still a fun read. Nero was so melodramatic but I have a feeling King might be even more theatrical from the little we've seen of him. Can't wait to meet him in his book!

I would like to say, for the amount of times this book made my heart twist and had me sweating, I really enjoyed it. 

I normally HATE the miscommunication trope but it made sense here. Our characters are virtually strangers, they got off the wrong foot from the start and they aren't natural communicators. Courtney is extremely independent and has never had anyone to rely on before. Sterling is bad with words and also has been alone alot so he just doesn't talk much. So it made sense why the misunderstanding developed and dragged the way it did. And while this would normally frustrate me, the way it unfolded and the way the miscommunication actually ended up helping our characters learn more about each other without verbally communicating... I teared up a few times. 

This is my second book from S.J. Tilly and I have a feeling she's fast-tracking to becoming one of my favourite authors. I really liked that even though Courtney is so independent, she WANTS to depend on someone. She WANTS someone to rely on, someone to provide for her and someone to be a security blanket for her. And there is nothing wrong with that. 

Society will teach women that we should never rely on a man and that it's shameful to want to. But that is not true. Genuinely, Sterling provides for her because he WANTS to. He hates seeing her struggle and he wants to make things easier for her. He wants to see her smile. And he wants to solve her problems. Not because she can't do it by herself. But because she doesn't HAVE to.  And that's beautiful. 

Everything about this book was just so great. Even the side characters were cute - Cook and Fisher were the best sidekicks. The ending was beautiful though the third act conflict came very out of left field (luckily short-lived but still entertaining) and I legitimately cried when Ben was introduced. 

I am looking forward to the next installment in this series and will be picking it up as soon as it's available!

I was really looking forward to this book and the premise had so much potential. 

Unfortunately, the execution fell short. I know the FMC is really young, she's only 21, but more often than not, she is very immature and acts like a brat. From the getgo, it was cemented that the MMC hates girls who act like brats but he's blind to our FMC's brattiness (ofc he is) and excuses it because she's "young" and "curious" and "it's adorable" even though he himself knows it's hypocritical as he has literal employees who are 21 and he holds them to that high standard of acting a certain way. 

Also, the intense back and forth between "i want you" and "no we shouldn't" was giving me so much whiplash. The switch is often abrupt and jarring and it made me want to throw my kindle across the room. 

Maybe I might pick this up again in the future but DNF for now. 

My first book from S.J. Tilly and I must say what an amazing impression she's left on me with this one. It's chock full of smut and fluff, enough to keep your thirst satiated and your heart bursting at its seams. 

Age-gap romances will always be one of my favourite tropes and this was done so so well. FMC is actually in her 30s and not 18 years old, YAY! 30s is still young, despite what society says. Both characters were also behaving consistent with their ages but fit so well together. The romance was so well-developed - it was vulnerable, it was tender, it was sexy and it was genuine. 

I will say that one pet peeve I had was how the FMC is implied to be plus sized but also small and dainty at the same time. And this is mentioned multiple times throughout, like I get it he's huge and she's small in comparison. Other than that, it doesn't take away from how sweet their relationship is so I'm willing to overlook it. 

I had picked this up very randomly to fill my Sunday morning but I will definitely check out more books from S.J. Tilly because this was such a great read. I'm so jealous because now I want an Axel. My turn when?

A very straightforward read. I liked how balanced the relationship between our characters were. The thing about why-choose romances that can often ruin the story is when authors neglect to make the relationship equal by focusing too much on certain characters. I appreciated that the romance and attraction between all of them was well-developed. Even though 2 of the characters had history, the other 2 have something else, all 4 of them were invested equally. Well done. 

Finished this in 2 hours. A quick and fast read.

I thought this would be full of smut but surprisingly, there is quite a bit of plot. But to be honest, I wish there was less plot and more romance. I felt very disconnected from Oliver and Roman. I couldn't feel the love and connection between Elise and all 3 of her men. It didn't feel like an equal relationship because we got more from James so it felt like she was with James, and Oliver and Roman are just bonuses on the side. 

Also wish we had more bonding moments between Elise and the twins. I didn't feel the family bond forming at all. Overall, there was more focus on the mafia plot than the romance and family aspects which made it hard to feel invested in their relationship. 

Picked this up because Shari deserves to get her story heard. Shari is a phenomenal writer and is able to articulate her emotions and thoughts about her ordeal in an almost poetic way. Despite the fact that I have never experienced what she has, I can relate to some of the struggles she had gone through and I felt so seen. I can't imagine what it must have been like to have those struggles in that house under the tyranny of Ruby. Her journey and battle to undo YEARS of trauma, abuse, brainwashing and manipulation was inspiring.

There were some loose ends in this memoir such as what happened to Dwight, how did Chad manage to break out of the brainwashing, has she managed to see and mend her relationship with her younger siblings. HOWEVER, I do understand that Shari wants to keep certain information, especially those related to her siblings, away from the public as they deserve their privacy and this is her way of protecting them. I admire her strength, resilience and the love she has for her siblings. 

While I did notice some people wishing she had seen the harm the LDS church had done and cut herself off from them, I'm only glad that her current ward and bishop seems to be a positive and supportive influence in her life. I admit to not knowing much about the LDS church, I never heard of this religion until this case blew up but I find it hard to believe that an entire religion is inherently bad. It seems that the ward the Franke family had been in was toxic and horrid but after the switch, it seems that the new ward is much better. Especially since the new bishop managed to get consequences delivered to Derek, thank you to him. 

I'm glad that Shari is safe and happy, and her siblings are no longer held captive, and Ruby and Jodi are in prison. Stuff is still unfolding such as details relating to Kevin and Pam's involvement in the abuse, but I only hope all the best for Shari and her siblings. 

Basically a smutty version of The Purge. Be warned, the story opens with the violent SA of the FMC. It isn't too graphic but it's still pretty detailed in case you may get triggered. Do check the trigger warnings. 

Despite the average rating I gave, this novella wasn't bad at all. I enjoyed reading about how the FMC got her revenge on the r*pists and I was NOT expecting the horrifying plot twist in this novella. I just wished there was a bit more that we could have learned about our MMCs and the FMC. I feel like I learned more about the r*pists than our main characters :((

Nevertheless, if you're looking to read about a badass woman on her revenge arc and DETAILED descriptions of how the revenge was executed and her smut with two brothers, here's a book for you! 

This is the first spicy novella I have ever given 5 stars. I cannot believe this was less than 100 pages because the amount of depth we got for the quantity was disproportional. 

It started out so spicy and then slowly we get backgrounds on our characters, introduction with the crazy squad and then full fluff. My thirst is satiated. My heart is full. And my inner younger self is in tears because I relate to Quin so much. I was expecting full blown non-stop smut, I was not expecting to get my heart and feels twisted like this. I devoured this in about an hour and loved every second of it.
