I decided that I wanted to make my way through the ManBooker Long-List this year because all of the titles sounded really interesting.
4 3 2 1 is about Archibald Isaac Ferguson and 3 other versions of who he could have been if his life had been altered by different events big or small.
I thought the premise for this book was amazing and when I first started reading it I really liked it, but I think I am one of the unpopular opinions in that I think Archie's life wasn't quiet interesting enough for me to keep me completely invested.
This book is almost 900 pages and while I love a good Tome this one took me forever. I did think the writing was AMAZING though. I think that it should be stated that Paul Auster is an amazing writer I just don't know that this book was the book for me.
What I loved about this Book:
1. I loved the writing style.
2. I loved the fleshed out characters (even if some of them really irritated me)
3. I loved how each Archie was the same but completely different from each other.
What I disliked about this book
1. There is no real plot.
2. This book was too long (in my opinion)
I would give this book a 3.5 out of 5 stars because I really did enjoy the overall story I just wished it would have been a little shorter.

I enjoyed this book. I found the main character to have a lot of whit which made reading about his case enjoyable. I did feel like the villian in this book was pretty pradictable but I enjoyed the way the story went. Since this is the first book in a series I hope to continue the series and have some more adventures with Mr. Dresden. If you like magic in a very modern day setting then this is the series for you.
4 out of 5 stars!!
This is by far my favorite book on the ManBooker List so far. This is a story about Saeed and Nadia and their relationship as they live life together. Our two main characters meet and fall for each in their home country which is never specifically mentioned but we know it is the middle east. There are things that are happening to make Saeed and Nadia's home country unsafe and so they set out on a journey to find one of the doors that will transport them to another part of the world.
This story was beautifully written and kept me engaged the whole time! I loved watching Saeed and Nadia as their relationship blossomed and as it changed as they lived their lives after passing through their first door.
I think this story brings a new light to the lives of refugees which is something that more of us in the U.S. should be aware of instead of shutting ourselves off from these views because we don't have to worry about not feeling safe in our own country.
What I loved
1. Saeed and Nadia's relationship- This relationship felt so real and natural. I didn't feel like it was rushed at all even though this isn't a particularly long book.
2. I loved the doors- these doors that would pop up randomly and take people away from the tragedies they were living in
3. The travel - Saeed and Nadia travel to a few different places throughout the novel and I enjoyed going on the adventure with them.
What I disliked
1. I didn't feel connected to either one of the main characters on the level I was expecting to connect with them.

History of Wolves is a beautifully written story about a girl named Linda (her family calls her Madeline) who lives a life with little parental supervision. One day she meets the neighbors from across the lake and begins babysitting a little boy named Paul.
We know that Linda is obsessed with a classmate named Lily and that Lily had an inappropriate relationship with a teacher named Mr. Greirson.
This book was really engrossing but I felt like it fell flat in the end. I know that Linda is supposed to be an unreliable narrator but I felt like the story really never resolved itself. The pacing also was a little difficult to follow sometimes because it keeps jumping between the time that Linda was in high school and when she is an adult retelling the story.
I was really excited about this story and thought it would have been a 5 star read for me but sadly it only made the 3 star list.
What I loved
The characters- I felt like all of the characters were developed enough to either make you feel for them or to despise them.
Linda's relationship with Paul and Patra- even if it wasn't healthy I enjoyed their interactions.
What I disliked
The pacing
The lackluster ending
I think that there are a lot of people who will really love this book sadly I just wasn't one of them.

I have to say I didn't know if I would really care for this book when I picked it up but I have been wanting to get into more sci-fi and because this is the pick for the S'more Sci-fi book club I thought I would give it a chance.
This one man's recounting of when Martians from Mars invaded Earth.
I found this to be a little cheesy in some parts but ultimately I really enjoyed the atmosphere of the story and I enjoyed the narrator. I think for the time that this was written in it could have been horror fiction because they didn't know like we do today that there is no living life on Mars.
If you are someone who wants to try some vintage Sci-fi I would totally recommend.
