I have never read a story from the perspective of a typewriter, but this is by far one of the best books I have read this year. This is a story that explores a plethora of emotions. I loved that this family is probably one of the most normal families I have seen in literature in a long time. I think that the discussion around mental health and working through big life changing events is one that is important for kids to see. I think that this is the kind of book that I would recommend to kids for a multitude of reasons. I also love that it takes something that we don't engage with on a regular bases and breathe life back into the importance of taking care of older thing. I also love how it makes kids realize that just because something is old does not mean that it is unimportant. I also loved the vocabulary within this book and can see this being used in schools.

 Fern is such an interesting character see at the set up of this story. I also found our main character of Rosemary to be such an interesting kid to follow. If you are an adult who loves the Wayward Children series by Seanan McGuire and looking for something that deals with similar topics and vibes I feel like this is a great option. I also loved the representation of our deaf character and the use of sign through out the book. I also enjoyed that this book explored the differences between the Seelie and Unseelie courts of Fae. If your child is looking for a spooky book this spooky season I would highly recommend this book. I can not wait to see where these characters go from here. 

I feel like this was a bit of a chaotic story but I think that was part of the point. I think that this book definitely keeps you on your toes and keeps you guess. I enjoyed that all of the characters were flawed and unlikeable and that stayed consistent. I think that this author has promise so I will try more. Not my favorite read of the year but definitely entertaining.
