Sometimes you need a sprawling, multi-generational, full of dysfunction family tale. And this is it. Love the way it's structured--jumping around in time, but in a very interesting way. It's 500 pages will fly by.

Interesting graphic novel about someone I've never heard of, but I wanted so much more about the comic book phase of her life. Just not quite enough there to be fully satisfying.

So I started to read another book about twins and strange magical things that I abandoned. And then picked this up, completely by coincidence. Loved the book-obsessed teenager trying to make a new life. Found some of the fairy stuff fun, but not sure how much it really added to the story.

Every now and then, I read something that takes me right back to my past--in this case, something about Puddin (and more so than in Dumplin' the first novel in this world) took me right back to high school. But in a good way. This book is all about friendship--finding new friends, life changing with the old ones, and just figuring out who you are and who you want to be. I really, really liked Dumplin', but I LOVED Puddin'.

Highly, highly recommended.

Listened to the audio version, and it was just delightful. Arthur and his exploration of his wife's life is absolutely wonderful. Wonderful characters across the board--and great character growth too. And it was happy. Sometimes we need happy.

Picked this up in an attempt to catch up on recent historiography regarding the suffrage movement--and so glad I did. Totally eye opening in the ways that this history have been molded over many, many years--and how this history became an important tool in the whole movement.
