I really enjoyed the plot of the book and how everything played out, as well as the characters and just the post-apocalyptic theme. But my main issue was all of the gory descriptions of blood and guts and other gross stuff. Think of what too much description of gore would be and multiply it by at least 3 if not more, that's what this book felt like for me.

I didn't love the writing at some points of the story and there were other things I had issues with at the moment of reading it. But I gave this book five stars because I like how it made me feel and think. 

It was difficult getting into the book. I didn’t love the first person narration. It got better by the end and was almost 3 stars.
