This was so cute! And I went on such a rollercoaster of emotions with that ending. I think it was such an accurate comparison to You've Got Mail, with just a hint of fantasy to it.

Not sure if it was just me or it was actually the writing style, but it felt slow up until the end. This became a book where I was more so invested in the characters than the actual storyline. I am very excited though to see where the story goes next in the series after that action-packed ending.

I could kick myself for not picking this one up sooner - there was so much I enjoyed and loved from this, especially the main character and the friendships that developed! I also really appreciated that this world has a magical school for kids but it isn't exactly a dream, and magic is cool, but it also has major consequences to it.

This was a really great change from the typical stories in this series that have us returning to Eleanor's school. It was interesting seeing the opposite side of reality for these children when going to the Whitethorn Institute and I am intrigued to see how the events from this series may pop up in future books. I also found myself enjoying Cora's character more in this as she had some great character growth.

This one taught me that I really cannot judge a story by its premise, because I loved this one! Again, another back story that had me feeling all the feelings. I also really loved the representation of having a character who is intersex in this one and how respectfully they were portrayed.

Another one that wasn't really high up there on my favorites from this series. I liked getting to revisit characters and to get a good conclusion to Jack & Jill's story, but I wasn't that invested in the storyline.

Wow! This may rival my love for book one of this series. I hadn't been sure how much I could actually enjoy Lundy's backstory, but this had me feeling all the feelings. I really loved the complexity of relationships and feelings explored in this one. My heart hurt for Lundy several times through this short story!

Not my favorite from the series; it felt like there were too many events rushed to fit the short page count. I did love getting to revisit some of our favorite characters though.

I’m really just needing an enjoyable read and this wasn’t it. I liked the concept, but really disliked the characters.

Another great story from SJM! Bryce is now one of my top favorite characters - she was so loveable and such a badass. I really enjoyed the relationships/friendships explored in this one (I need more Bryce and Ruhn!!). It didn't get a full 5 stars from me due to some interesting plot/characters choices near the part 4 mark and the length.... this did not need to be one single 800 page book.
