One of my most anticipated releases for the year and Erin A. Craig brought yet another great read!! I loved the main character Hazel and the pacing of her timeline to really showcase the struggles she had being the godchild of an actual god so that when she got into difficult scenarios you could see why she made the decisions she made. Erin's writing is some of my favorite and this definitely solidified her as an auto-buy author for me! I alway appreciate a standalone fantasy, but if Erin ever wanted to revisit this world/these characters, I certainly wouldn't be upset about - I'd love to see more about the gods!
I am so bummed I could get into this one, but it did not have me hooked at all and I really didn’t like the side romance plot that was starting to develop.
Unfortunately, this series just isn’t keeping me hooked in to the plot.
medium-paced
This was a reread for me via audiobook to prepare for the sequel. I do think I preferred physically reading it over listening.
I’m so sad to be DNF-ing because this cover is so pretty but unfortunately the story isn’t for me.
