There are so many great points made and historical events/facts shared that I did not know before; I just don’t think historical nonfic is for me. I couldn’t keep up with it.

I do feel like an outlier on this, but I could not stick with it. I appreciate the message the author is looking to get across but it was too trauma-packed for me and the pacing couldn’t keep me in it.

Nothing wrong with the story or writing, just wasn’t for me right now.
I just could not get into this one and after reading other reviews describing the writing style and plot, I don’t think this one is for me.
I just couldn't get into the audio, so DNFing for now. May try coming back to it in the physical edition at a later time.
Just not the book for me.
I’m really just needing an enjoyable read and this wasn’t it. I liked the concept, but really disliked the characters.
