This was short and effective. Everyone should read this book but especially my fellow non-educated white people. We haven’t been taught any of this is school.

I can’t even put into words what this book did to me. Trump literally calling protesters terrorists days ago and reading this memoir at the same time was chilling.

The only good thing about this book was the diversity of the characters. Otherwise, the main character catfishes her ex boyfriend and it’s so messed up.

2.5*

Soooo I didn’t know this was a romance going in because it was marketed as a thriller but it was heavy on the romance. The ending was super disappointing so I couldn’t give it more than a 2.5

So this was pretty awful. I was actually enjoying it in the beginning but then it was just so repetitive and the ending was so bad. Also, not at all realistic for a contemporary which didn’t work for me.

Yeah no. The writing of this one was not it for me. Gabby was described as having major anxiety but the author made her literally afraid to do anything and was an awful representation of anxiety.

This was interesting. It was supposed to be a thriller but it was mostly cheesy. I hated the girl on girl hate and carter was the worst.

This was super dense for me and read like a textbook. I’m going to read the abridged version with Jason Reynolds and try this again.

Everything in this book should be taught in school and yet I didn’t know anything I read in this book. To see the own county I live in in this book in relation to voter suppression was jarring. Such an impactful read.
