March 2013 Review
This was a boring romance. There was just too too too much stuff going on that it made it a mess. I didn't care about the characters and started skipping other character's story to get back to the H and h. I did finish it but it just wasn't enjoyable to complete. I won't read it again.
Author did good in creating the storyline but she shouldn't have dragged it on and on and on. And the Romeo-Juliet theme was just overdone. 60% of the book is about the "fued."

I read this in 2008 and September 2013.

Tempting by Susan Mallery 4★

So I've read one of Susan's other books, well half of it anyway. It was one of the Fool's series book. So then I thought I'd try reading this book along with a different Fool's series book. Turns out Tempting was a reread for me. I'd completely forgotten that I'd read it. I didn't recognize the plot but I did remember some of the characters.

So I finished rereading because it's a decent romance book with some sex scenes. The character development was pretty good. The story and writing was smooth and nice to read, even though there was a few redundancies. The happily ever after at the ending was unrealistic for me as this was an instant attraction and love and marriage after a month. And now all the Buchanan siblings (4) are hitched/ engaged in the span of one year. There is a lot of subplots occurring - politics, disabled children (HIV positive, Hearing Impaired, Down Syndrome and Cerebral palsy). As for the ideal to adapt kids with disabilities, I think it's great. But they are written in a very unrealistic way. I.e. 15 y.o. Bailey Canfield who has Down Syndrome is a nice fictional character. Her disability symptoms are pure fictional in my opinion. But that's because I had 2 relatives with Down Syndrome. My Uncle John passed away some years back in his 50's, cousin Zita is currently in her early 30's. She's an incredible person. But sometimes it's still very difficult to understand what she's saying.
And then there's more subplots like... The Canfield's marriage and family (Mark and Katherine Canfield are some of the various character point of views - I think there was 5 p.o.v.'s total). Alex's ex-wife Fiona is a bit of a drama subplot. Oh and Gracie Buchanan's health and restaurant empire.

I did like Dani Buchanan and Alex Canfield and their story (the main plot). Their romance was pretty quick. But the characters were all likeable.

2.8 stars. I got this kindle ebook back in August of 2012 from Amazon. The storyline intrigues me. I think that this book is barely a 3 star book. It's a good fluff chick lit book. A good beginning andending. I felt that the interaction between the two characters (when there was one), was pretty good.

Casey Green is a bit of a push over, but she does grow out of that just a little. Her ideal of marriage is ridiculous I think. Casey marrying someone to help her get away from her family that drags her down shows that she has no.backbone to do things on her own. Also warningbells should have been going through Casey's head about,Joe Elliott- herfiancee of 7 years. But wait. Her bff encouraged her to go on the show. Pushover. Adam James Carmichael came up with the idea for Casey and him to get married. Pushover.

But like I said. Casey does grow a small backbone at the end of this book. It's still on my kindle because I might read this again if I want a really light read

4.5★♥

Stephanie Plum in Southern California (haven't read the Plum books but saw the movie). The mystery seemed more a back-story. And what was to take place in just a matter of a week seemed a lot longer. More like a month with chaos and trouble happening everywhere Gladie turned.
I liked the interaction between Gladie and Spencer. The "mysterious" Holden hasn't impressed me.

Spoiler And even if this took place in under a week, it seemed weird that the two guys were there at the hospital room with her, both glaring at each other.End Spoiler.

This is a good quick read though. I just hope Gladie doesn't string the two guys along throughout the series like the Plum book. I really hope she's made her choice in which guy she likes more in the second book. In my opinion, I think it's Spencer.
