The title caught my eye at the shops. I was intrigued by the storyline. A girl who is haunted by Jane Austen herself. Ellie isn't just haunted by Jane through her teen years though. Austen has been with Ellie from the age of 15 to 34 years old. So this is a coming of age storyline with Jane Austen's help.
Just like Ellie, I was a geek in my English classes because I enjoyed reading the books assigned. Not all sophomore teens can understand Austen's satire, let alone dialogue. So that's why I was a book mouse. I might not of had Jane Austen "haunting" me. I did have Jane's works to use as guidelines in finding a Mr. Right. But like Ellie has realized, I've set that bar pretty high.
"Heaven forbid! - That would be the greatest misfortune of all! - To find a man agreeable whom one is determined to hate! - Pride and Prejudice."
At the beginning of each chapter, Marilyn Brant gives a quote from one of Jane Austen's works. This one is from chapter 9 and I think it is the perfect description of Sam Blaine. Jane and Ellie consider him to be Mr. Wickham. In my opinion, teenage Sam is a lot like the teenage boys that were in my school. The Wickham comparison is pretty good. But unlike Wickham, I think Sam can and has shown that he is changing. He wants to be a better person. So I was glad that Sam proved Ellie (and Jane) wrong about him.
Most romance books that have H and h reunited have the heroine be celibate. I disagree with that. In According to Jane, I was very happy that Ellie isn't celibate while Sam wasn't also.
I think that it's plausible that 15 y.o. Sam knew that Ellie was "The One." After all, my Uncle married his Junior High School sweatheart. They are still married and very happy. So finding "The One" at such a young age can happen.
I am very glad I have this book. I've read it 5 times now since I bought it almost three years ago. I didn't always like Jane's "hauntings" because I thought they interfered with this nice story. They were good though

Great mystery with good old fashion humor. Love how the heroine uses a frying pan to defend herself.

A fantasy Christmas magical story. Joy Faith Candellaro is a recently divorced woman. I didn't connect with her divorce as I've never been married. But I had a lot of empathy for her. Her husband cheating on her sister is bizarre and cruel as far as my family's "sister code" rule goes. So I even cheered for her when she chose to run away from all that family drama and having to face the Christmas holidays alone. The first ticket she can grab is on a little plane heading to a little place up north called Hope. While on the plane she thinks of what it would be like, which had me thinking of my ideal vacation spots. Then the plane crashes. And things get odd from there. She some how survives. And then walks away from the survivors and rescuers. For miles she walks. And then she finds her ideal cabin in the woods by a river. The question I kept asking was was that all real. And I was just a little surprised with the twist at the end.
This was a slow reading start for me because I didn't connect to well with Joy. After the strange and dramatic plane crash, the story picked up. I loved the ending. And the character development was good. There was even a few tear jerker moments because of how much I felt empathy for them. Daniel grew on me. I didn't like him at first because of how cold and distant he behaved to Bobby and Joy. I liked the Christmas miracles touch to the story. And I really liked the idea of having a fresh start to life. A new beginning

Adventures of my niece and nephew Ella and Owen... I mean the twin dragons Ella and Owen... who’s names are my niece and nephew too. And Owen just loves talking about The Cave of Aaaaaah!!! Doom!!!
4.5 stars★ Loved Jack!!
This looks like it'll be a good series, so I've added the book 1 to my library loaning. This is a bit predictable and light. And there was a few times when the four friends just talked and talked and talked... and about the one subject too... so at times a little overkill. And I wasn't all to thrilled with how involved they were with Emma's personal and private life… always asking the details of her and Jack's sex life, I thought it was rude. And didn't like how they kept Jack from talking to Emma at the end. I'm looking forward to Del and Lauren's story in book 3, but will read Mac and Carter's story in book 1 first.
I did have a few problems with understanding all the flower's names that Emma worked with. I liked the description of her job and what she did. Although I got a little tired of how she loved gardening and flowers towards the end, because, again, overkill on the descriptions.
Aside from all the cons, the pros were really nice. This was a very hopeless romantic story. And loved the friends to true love story. I'm looking forward to the other books in the series.

Vision in White (2009) by Nora Roberts 3★
(Bride Quartet: Book 1)
Only 3 stars. Thought it was ok but liked the second book in this series more (which I had read first in this series). And I ended up speed reading through some of this because it was a little redundant. I did like Mac and Carter. Even enjoyed the funny way they met (again). Oh but how Mac's mother irritated me and just a bit ridiculous for demanding thousands of dollars from her daughter just so she could go to a rich spa resort to snag her next wealthy husband.
