Loved it! It is a book that sings (pun intended) of David Mitchell’s love of the music of 67/68.
What fun to create a bunch of likable characters, create music and songs for them, let them meet and interact with the music and art legends of the Era.
Like a live session from your favourite band, this book is deliciously imperfect in places. The prime example being Jasper’s sudden resolution to hearing knock knock in his head.
And not unlike [b:Daisy Jones & The Six|40597810|Daisy Jones & The Six|Taylor Jenkins Reid|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1580255154l/40597810._SY75_.jpg|61127102] by [a:Taylor Jenkins Reid|6572605|Taylor Jenkins Reid|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1493925431p2/6572605.jpg] I wish there were actual album recordings to listen too.
Recommended to fans of music and pop culture and fans of Mitchell who wish to see characters from previous books reappear as they are known to do :)

I do enjoy a Good David Mitchell and the world he has built within our own.
This book tells the story of Slade House and it's occupants. Every nine years someone is drawn to the house and something terrible happens to them. The book is told in the first person by one of these characters every nine years and as always David brings these people to life from the first paragraph. He remains the best author I have read to date in his characterisations.
Not to give away any of the plot a reader should know that the world in this novella is that of the Bone Clocks. I am not sure how it would read as a stand-alone? I would be interested if anyone has read it before the Bone Clocks how they felt about it?

I listened to this on CD in the car and let’s just say I was glad for one or two traffic jams as they meant I could listen to what happened next.
This book is a homage to Stephen King’s It and another one of his novels that I dare not name, lest ye be spoiled, but with CJ Tudour’s already unique brand of mystery wrapped in layers of half a dozen other mysteries.
Recommended to mystery fans who don’t mind a supernatural twist.
