A summer blockbuster in a book? This one is for movie nerds and Quintin Tarantino fans! There is a lot of explicit gun violence, and wicked comedy, with a few Vampires thrown in for good measure. This is a fun Summer read but not for you if you are sensitive to gun violence.

I gather this is an appetiser for the longer novel Perron Manor, a haunted house tale that I am very much looking forward to reading based on some of the reviews.

In this novella/fictionalised true haunting tale - we read some of the background history and strange occurrences in one of Britain’s most haunted houses. It sticks very strictly to the format of most true haunting investigations. There is little conclusion and a lot of paranormal investigators deliberately taunting ghosts. I think it may be a little annoying if you do not realise this is the prelude to the first book of a series and don’t have the book unhand to read almost immediately.

Appetite whetted for Perron Manor I guess :)

Full of Dawn French‘s fabulous sense of humour and love of people; this one is an uplifting page turner. The ending was a little too ridiculous for me but I am sure will be well loved by others.
