I really wanted to like this after seeing it be held in such high regard, especially against the likes of New 52 and Rebirth, but I just... didn't really. Everything after the first issue just felt like meaningless filler, and while there was some backstory built for Harley in between, the plots of the issues were so plain I've already forgotten what most of them were about. While I haven't read a good Harley comic I've enjoyed some runs just for being fun, but this just didn't do it for me. The art was nice, I liked how the style managed to switch pretty seamlessly, but I really don't get the hype for this book at all. Much like All-Star Superman, if this is the best Harley gets then I really don't have high hopes.

This is quite possibly the most pointless comic I have read. There is little to no story being told here, as the one very slightly ongoing plotline only lasts for 2 and a half issues and holds absolutely no relevance to the rest of the comic. The art for the first half of the volume was really gorgeous, and that was the one saving grace. It's disappointing because Loveness' 'Groot' miniseries showed that Rocket and Groot's dynamic can be written in a meaningful way, but as I haven't read Skottie Young's Rocket solo I can only presume he is going solely for cheap jokes or has simply run out of stories to tell about these two, because that's what comes across.

Almost as lovable as volume one, the beginning and last few issues unfortunately fell slightly flat compared to the rest. That said, this series is still one of the best of the 1980s I've read. The dialogue never feels too copious and the story remains family-oriented (whether the issue revolves around her found family or that of the Amazons).
