4.5 stars. The writing was stunningly poetic and beautiful so wonderfully craft plot and the work that Alex did researching the eras it's admirable. Our main characters are powerful Etta is a amazing and strong woman that stand up for herself and others and Nicholas is fantastic letting her be who she is but still being a good companion to her. Pacing is very good and keeps you guessing and the plot twists are unbelievable!! Only complain is the same I had with The Darkest Mind chapters are too long for my taste it gets hard for me reading long chapters. Totally recommend.
