• Sci Fi / Urban Fantasy, Texas

For some reason this book gives me some X-man vibes a bit. This was fun in a Ilona Andrews way. I love the banter between the 2 main characters. I'm not going to lie I was little disappointed with the amount of romance but that's only bc the cover lead me to believe otherwise. Once I got past that it, everything I am growing to love by this author. The magic system is cool. I am also surprised with the level of military and how much I like it. Lots of action some stressful situations and can't wait to read the next book.

Wow what a ride!! If you like struggle bus types of story this would be the series for you.  In this book I loved some characters more and some less. It was definitely a chunky book and dragged in a few places. There were a few things in this book that I'm not sure I was a fan of but some of the other elements were great! I can't wait to see what the rest series has in store for me. My heart just hurts for Fitz.

Can't really talk, I must read the next book! This is book two of the Farseer trilogy. Now that we are in book two the characters just keep growing on you. I also like the puzzle / politics of it all; is this the right move?, who is behind all of these things?. I also love the magic in this world. And that ending!!!!

I am all over the place with my feelings with this book what happened to the love? This book has so much anger and confusion, I can't tell if this is by design or just the story not holding up to being multiple books. I am just not sure how the characters got to this point in such a short time. I am really hoping that this is the intention to leave us feeling confused and hurt as the characters do. I will see what book 3 has instore and hope that it all comes together. This is my second book by this author.

Side note the level of smut / spice was a bit much for me. I tend to like a little more plot over smut but this is just my tastes.

This book is defiantly has a lot of violence. I am a sucker for enemies to lovers! It is defiantly heavy in the romance part but with just enough plot to keep me hooked, plus the twists! I couldn't wait for it to unfold, as it is also one of my favorite elements in books lately. I have not read anything else by this author but after this book I am excited to read more as a few of her other books are on my Tbr. The enjoyment of this book is why it was rated so high, since I read it in a day. The level of romance was a bit more then I normally read but I was able to not have it affect my enjoyment of this book. As soon as I was done I picked up the next book, lets hope its as good as the first book.
This is one of those pure junk food reads for me. It has so many things I love in a dark fantasy. I was sucked in and read this book I one day, I love it so much. I can't wait to see where this series goes! What a great start.

* Side note the level of smut / spice was a bit much for me and how it was written. I tend to like a little more plot over smut but this is just my tastes and is why the book didn't get 5 stars from me.

I love the stories with in the story and the brother, sister bond and their adventures. Plus I can't resist a fae book. High school me would have loved this book! Once I got passed the beginning I became more interested in what was going on. This book is just fine. I think it might have missed it mark a bit with me but I don't think that has anything thing to do with the story and has more to do with me. This being my first Holly Black book I look forward to reading more by her.

• Djinn
• Political intrigue
• Hidden Identity
• Dual POV

Well That's one way to end a book! This book was fun! I love Djinn books and the little bit of romance that was there was great ( if you like insta love kinda thing ). Firefly is probably one of my favorite things about this book. I did find a lot of the dialogue or writing a little dry or maybe formal is a better word for it, I cant wait to see how this all plays out in book 2.
