The Wrath & the Dawn

Renée Ahdieh

I just couldn’t get into it. It started off very strong and I was enjoying it. But then the relationship started developing at a really odd pace and the stories I was so invested in just stopped getting told. Plus, there was alot of flowery writing that did not need to be there. It inhibited my ability to get to know the characters. I was really hoping I was going to like this one.

This was an amazing sequel. I’m excited to see what happens next.

This was an enjoyable and fast read. I didn’t like the amount of smut that was in this book though. It went from giving us a little plot, to the MC and her Demon getting it on multiple times. I did like where tut story went (when there was one) and it was interesting to see a different side of Emilia.

This is not a series I would recommend to everyone.

This book was very confusing. The first 70 pages were written in a very odd non-linear way, but then it changed to a linear narrative and it was interesting. Very dark, but whimsical. I can definitely say I’ve never read a book like it.

This book was amazing. I loved the characters and the story itself. It was so intricate and it connected together so beautifully in the end. There were a couple of things I saw coming, but that didn’t inhibit my enjoyment in the slightest. It wrapped up so nicely.

A Court of Silver Flames

This book just seemed to drag on. It was literally the same thing over and over again, with some smut mixed in. Training, library, smut…training, library, smut. I was so bored. This really didn’t need to be 757 pages. I get SJM wanted a slow-burn, but this is way too much.

This was such a fun read. It was action-packed and fast-paced. I really enjoyed the reveals. It did get a little dull during some of the scenes, but overall, it was a great read.

This just seemed like a lot of nothing. Nothing really happened and there were ALOT of assumptions being made about that was going on.

The spice was interesting though. Not usually a spicy reader, but I liked it.

This was such a sweet story. Just a simple slice of life during the Winter Solstice. A great way to immerse myself back in the world of ACOTAR and see the characters again.
