I was very disappointed by this book. I had a hard time connecting to any of the characters and felt that story jumped around way too much between the characters and some events were glossed over. There were even perspectives that, at the time, made no sense to me. I get that it’s all going to connect eventually, but I didn’t enjoy it. It took me a long time to get through this book. I do think that I need to give it another go and that maybe the time I read it just wasn’t the right time. I usually read a book in between series, but I wanted to get to this ASAP. Right now though, I’m giving this a 2 stars.

Everything I loved about Skyward was gone in this one. I couldn’t connect to the characters at all, not even Spensa. The story so far was filled with exposition and I didn’t understand any of it. I loved Skyward so much, but this was just disappointing.

I could not get past the writing style. I barely had any clue what was going on and the info-dumping we got didn’t explain anything.

This was a great series continuation. It went in a very different direction than I was expecting though and it made it a bit of a weird read. I did really enjoy it.

This book was a really quick read. Something to just sink your teeth into when you’re in the mood for something light. It was kind of average though and I don’t think I’ll be continuing with the series.

This book felt vastly different from the first. Almost like it was the start of a completely different series. It was an average read, nothing exciting.

Red Sister

I just couldn’t get into it. The writing felt dry. It wasn’t captivating. I even skipped to an action scene just to see if it would get better, but it still didn’t interest me.

I don’t know what it was about this book, but I just couldn’t get into it. I don’t do well with investigation storylines and I went into it not knowing that that’s what it was.
