I didn't like the character, Felix, he was very mean to his dad and his friend, self absorbed and just awful to people. Glad there is a book out there about a trans black teen, but I just think the author could have done a better job with the main character.

I am a sucker for found family and intergenerational friendships tropes so I knew right away it was for me. The character P.J. could have easily been the offspring of John Candy from the Uncle Buck movie and a straight version Patrick from Guncle. However, there were a lot of triggering events so it definitely isn't rated G (if we rated books like movies).
